OK. I greatly like stumbling across these little snippets of ancient knowledge. Music is in a golden ratio, also known as the golden mean or golden number. More specifically the notes in a major key -in music theory- are in a golden ratio with the notes that are not in the same major key. This ratio is also repeated when comparing the major key with it’s pentatonic scale. Why is this important? The golden ratio is used in fluid dynamics, wind dynamics and permeates through much of the existing universe (see HeliCal model of the solar sytem). Whether it is a flower, sea shell or proportions of the face; the golden ratio is present. Allow me to explain further.
Here’s a band newsletter I would like to foward along…

‘You Light Me Up’, by Evolfo Doofeht, is a rockin’, quick-phased romp through howling vocals and fetching saxophones. Now, Boston’s own Evolfo Doofeht will be releasing a new single on November 7th, 2013, titled ‘The Mechanicals‘. ‘The Mechanicals’ starts with a commanding horn section that trumps into a melodic groove by Boston’s own Evolfo Doofeht. Cheeky lyrics, lofty, meaningfully and distorted rhymes light up the song ‘The Mechanicals’. The second verse starts after a cordial band tacet, and the breakdown proceeds subsequently into awesomeness. The “nerdy king”, proclaimed by the lyricsist as the crowning chorus invades into infiinity.

Hello and welcome to MassBands.Org. Please check out the Massachusetts based band Dressed for the Occasion. With a rockabilly twist and roots sound, gritty lyrics and ripping solo “The Devil’s Rodeo” will tempt your heart. Upbeat, and lively Dressed for the Occasion is a band worth listening too. According to their website they are influenced by some of the greats.
“Rooted in classics like Johnny Cash, The Beatles, Hank Williams, and The Doors, each individual member brought their own powerful mix of taste and style to the table, and created a sound that can only be described as a thunder storm of originality. “
I can hear a more contemporary sound. It’s always a nice dynamic to go from a loud raging guitar solo to a light acoustic sound. It’s nice to hear that in these songs, when so many artists miss the importance of dynamic in a song. “Midnight Sky” is a sultry run over a more melodic harmony. “When I Go” is a sanguine, rocking acoustic up-tempo delight, while “Doctor(Live)” is a bluesy masterpiece with heart moving lyrics of despondency. “I would be much obliged/If I could just return this dead brain of mine/In fact I think I would be fine/If you just just left me hollow inside,” sing the lyrics of “Doctor(Live).” Check out Dressed for the Occasion!
